Three robbery suspects arrested after ‘car trouble’

On December 10, 2017 at about 02:30 the Drift Reaction IFS K9 Unit was on patrol when they noticed a Red Venture vehicle parked on the outside of a venue. The squad saw one suspect busy fiddling inside the bonnet and another suspect was busy loading goods into the Venture.

They immediately knew that something suspicious was going down and decided to investigate.

They split up and approached the Venture from two sides.

Low and behold – they found that the two had just broken into a venue with the stolen property in their possession! Their “get away” vehicle had radiator problems and the one was frantically busy trying to repair the radiator while the other one was loading the goods!

They searched the area and found another suspect hiding in the bushes.

The three did not even attempt to run when they noticed the three K9’s who were extremely eager to run them in if they tried!!

The IFS men then went to the owner of the venue and informed them about the incident and the owner then showed them where the three broke into the venue. They were not even aware of the incident.

The owner also informed the men that one of the suspects was a former employee at the venue. He knew exactly where to go for the most expensive equipment. The value of the stolen goods are estimated to be more than R100 000!

The three was arrested and they, together with the stolen property and their vehicle was taken to SAPS Muldersdrift where they will be detained.
