Three suspects aged between 47 and 52 years old were arrested on 13 February 2020, for kidnapping and attempted murder which took place on the same day.
The suspects found the victim at Hartbeespoort Dam area looking for a job and they accused him of having stolen car batteries while he was still employed by one of the suspects. They forced him into their car and drove to one of the suspect’s place wherein he was tied up, assaulted and driven around the suspect’s home in order to search for their batteries.
Community members alerted the police and the three suspects were arrested immediately.
They will appear in Pretoria magistrate’s court soon.
We appeal to the community not to take the law into their own hands but to report the matter to the police for further investigations.
