Three suspects of ages 34 and two 29 were arrested for business robbery they committed at about 11:00, 7 February 2018, at Sedibeng section at a shop.

A 37 year old complainant alleged that he was busy selling at his tuck shop. He was approached by three armed men. The suspects pointed him with firearms. They robbed him cash, cigarettes, airtime vouchers and cellphones.

The suspects fled to their getaway vehicle. The car was identified as Toyota venture and the complainant managed to take the registration number plate.

The Tembisa police traced the vehicle until they found it at Kempton Park. A 29 year old suspect who is a taxi driver was arrested. The police traced another two suspects who were found in Tembisa. Two firearms and ammunition were found in possession of a 34 year old suspect. He was also found to be in possession of cellphones and coins.

The victim of the business robbery at Sedibeng section had managed to identify their cellphones amongst the few that were found in possession of the 34 year old suspect.

It was later established that one of the firearms is a toy gun. The other one is a 9mm pistol with eight live rounds of ammunition.

The suspects might be linked to other cases that they may have committed around Ekurhuleni North Cluster.
