In a joint operation, the Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing joined members SAPS DPC Tracking Team, PML HQ, SAPS Johannesburg K9 Unit, Fidelity Specialised Services, ARN Security, and Hawkeye in tracking down suspects wanted for multiple cases of murder and attempted murder in Empangeni.
The multidisciplinary team was deployed to the Midrand area, where the suspects were believed to be hiding. Upon arrival at a block of flats, the suspects attempted to escape through the roof and neighboring properties, but officers swiftly responded and contained all three suspects.
During the operation, one firearm and three magazines were recovered. Law enforcement agencies continue to follow up on additional leads as investigations unfold.
