In a joint operation involving Gauteng Traffic Wardens STT (NC), Tshenolo P.I, Axon Security, CSI Security, Emer-G-Med EMS, Fidelity-ADT Security, Fidelity Services Group,, Hatfield CID, Interactive Security, Old East Safety Forum, and Safenet, law enforcement acted on an alert regarding a wanted vehicle linked to the theft of VW Polo headlights and headlamps in parking areas around Hazelwood.
The alert was connected to two cases in the Brooklyn policing precinct.
Officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle entering a parking area in Hazelwood. When it stopped, two suspects were found inside, along with breaking equipment and false number plates.
Following further investigation and camera footage evidence, the suspects were approached. Gauteng Traffic Wardens conducted additional investigations, leading to the recovery of stolen VW headlights from previous thefts in the Hercules area.
The suspects were apprehended for possession of stolen property, breaking equipment, and false number plates.
