One suspect was arrested after two people were fatally shot and an elderly woman was injured in Hillbrow on Wednesday, 26 October 2022, at approximately 18:30.
It is reported that three workers from a store in Joubert Park, Hillbrow, were sitting inside a vehicle, a Toyota Tazz, after they had closed the store.
They were approached by three males who fired shots at them.
The passenger fired back at the suspects and injured one of them.
The two victims in the car succumbed to injuries while an elderly woman sustained injuries and was rushed to the local medical care centre.
Upon arrival at the crime scene, police found an injured suspect lying on the ground, with an unlicensed firearm next to him. The suspect was immediately arrested.
The motive for the shooting cannot be confirmed at this stage.
A case of murder and attempted murder was opened for investigation.
