On Friday, 26 August 2022 members of SAPS Magaliesburg arrested a 26-year-old man for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The SAPS members reportedly conducted a crime prevention roadblock along Koster Road in Magaliesburg.
Vigilance led the members to recover an unlicensed firearm and ammunition found inside a vehicle; the driver was subsequently arrested.
The firearm will be subjected to ballistic tests to establish whether it may be linked to other serious crimes committed.
