ELDORADO PARK — A 57-year-old man was arrested on Saturday, 27 June 2026, in the Eldorado Park policing precinct following an intelligence-driven operation targeting illegal firearms and narcotics.
Members of the Eldorado Park Crime Prevention Unit, operating alongside Gauteng Traffic Wardens, acted on information from a credible source regarding a suspect allegedly in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and drugs.
Acting on the intelligence, officers located the identified address and conducted a search of the premises. During the operation, police seized one 9mm firearm, one magazine, 59 rounds of live ammunition, and a plastic packet containing drugs.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and has been formally charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as dealing in drugs.
He is expected to appear in court shortly. Police investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
