The law enforcement agencies in Tshwane seem to be making significant gains following the arrest of three alleged cable thieves who were busted while reportedly stripping a mini power station of cables in Sunnyside, east of Pretoria, during the early hours of Tuesday morning 12 February 2019.

According to reports the suspects were noticed by guards who called for police back-up near the corner of Beckett and W F Nkomo streets before the resultant arrest of the three men aged 28, 32 and 40.

Brigadier Ramakamakama Kekana, the station commander of Sunnyside, commended both his own troops and the guards for responding promptly to the vandalisation of the power station.

Members of the public may report suspicious activities anonymously via the Crime Stop Hotline on 086001011 or by sending a Crime Line SMS on 32211.

The trio are expected to be charged with possession of suspected stolen property and appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
