Having worked tirelessly through the night to locate two suspects who are believed to have been involved in an altercation with an 18 year old college student shortly before the latter was allegedly pushed from the seventh floor at Wall flat in Arcadia, east of Pretoria, during the early hours of Saturday morning 16 March 2019, Sunnyside police detectives finally arrested the two men at about midday on 17 March 2019.

The victim was treated at a local hospital where he passed on during the afternoon on the same day. According to an eyewitness account, the victim was involved in an argument with the suspects before he was pushed.

The local police commander, Brigadier Ramakamakama Kekana, commended the officers who ensured that the suspects were brought to book.

“Informers and other ordinary members of the community must also be thanked for providing us information that led to both the identification and apprehension of the suspects,” said Kekana.

The suspects (23 and 27) are expected to be charged with murder and appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
