According to Moffat View SAPS, the perpetrator was riding a motorcycle at Augusta and East roads, in Regents Park, when he just opened fire to two unknown victims who managed to escape from his rage.

Two women who are believed to be aged 27 and 38 were gunned down at Theunissen Street in South Hills on 22 March 2019. They were confirmed dead by paramedics and another woman was hospitalised after being shot in the leg. It is not yet clear if the victims who escaped at Regents Park are the ones who were shot in South Hills after fleeing away from the perpetrator in Regents Park.

The reasons behind the shootings are yet unknown.

Moffat View SAPS spokesperson Capt Jeff Phora said the police are still inquiring the whereabouts of the two women who managed to escape from the perpetrator.

“We are still waiting for the injured victim to give us a statement of what conspired so that our investigation can get clear direction. We as SAPS are on the lookout for the perpetrator. If someone has information that might help us please they need to contact Moffat View SAPS,” said Phora.

Anyone with information can contact Moffat View SAPS on 011 405 15100 or alternatively SAPS emergency center line 10111.
