A 56 year old man was arrested by Loate police on the afternoon of 17 February 2018, at Winterveld north of Pretoria at around 15:00.

Police received information from the suspect’s son who said he had enough of his father who is busy planting dagga like fruit trees at his house.

He stopped the police during patrols and took them to his father’s house.

Police found a garden of dagga and also the suspect who said he is using it for rituals and also at his farm.

He was arrested for plantation of dagga and is expected to appear before Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 February 2018.
