Smallholding owner gets R10 million from city council

Die Vryburger

Andre Bezuidenhout of the West Rand got an order by the High Court in Pretoria against the Mogale municipality in which they must pay R10,3 million after he lost access to his property because of the construction of the Cradlestone Mall.

The mall was developed by Sasol Pension Fund before plans were approved and two neighborhoods proclaimed. However, Sasol is not affected by the claim.

The R10 million, plus interest since July 2013 as well as all legal costs, must be paid by the municipality.
