Six people arrested after business robbery and collision in Gauteng

In a joint integrated operation involving the Vereeniging VCIU tracing team, Kliprivier SAPS, Sekuriteit sonder grense, Afri Gaurd, Midvaal peace officers, EXPOL, COMPOL, Elite VIP, Fox Secutiy, Gauteng Traffic Chopper, Wardens and SNIPRA, a lookout was issued for a silver Toyota Corolla with six suspects involved in an armed business robbery at a liquor store in Duncanville, Vereeniging.

Using License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras, the vehicle was tracked, and various law enforcement units mobilized to monitor and block possible escape routes.

The suspects’ vehicle was soon spotted on Springbok Road, heading towards Kliprivier.

As officers set up a roadblock, the suspects attempted to make a U-turn but collided with a truck, damaging their vehicle.

The suspects immediately fled on foot, but after a brief chase, all six suspects were successfully apprehended.
