ARMED ROBBERY – Just after 21:00 on Friday night a call was received for assistance on a Whats-app group in Nooitgedacht. The report was that shots were being fired at a compound on a smallholding.
The Iron Fist Squad as well as Tactical Units reacted to the call. On arrival the residents of the compound reported that six armed men robbed them of electrical equipment and clothing.
On their way out the robbers noticed a bakkie (pick-up truck) with a man and woman sitting inside. They decided to rob them as well. They took cellphones and a substantial amount of cash.
Members of the community fired warning shots at the suspects and they fled towards Malibongwe where they disappeared.
Thankfully nobody was injured.
