On Friday evening, at approximately 20h00, our CERT Centurion crew responded to a shooting incident in Sunderland Ridge, Centurion.
The incident followed an alleged armed robbery at a convenience store in Lyttelton, after which security personnel and police officers were in pursuit of the suspects.
During the exchange of gunfire, three alleged robbers were wounded, one sustained critical injuries and two others moderate injuries. In addition, two further suspects were arrested. All injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital under police guard.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Police processed the scene and have opened an investigation into the matter.
