Another robbery happened this morning in the Johannesburg CBD and was caught on CCTV.
The woman entered the building and proceeded to open up a door, battling with the keys and taking far too long to open the door. A thieving dangerous thug, pounced on her with a huge knife, demanding her valuables. Probably in shock, the woman gave him her handbag. He quickly turned to leave, when his accomplice appeared. The two thugs ran away, leaving the woman horrified.
Unfortunately, the woman was probably her own worst enemy, when she entered the building, she did not close the security gate behind her. In the Johannesburg CDB, it is dangerous for a woman to walk alone as they are soft targets and the thieving suspects probably followed her and waited to take the opportunity of mugging her.
The criminals that lurk around the cities are evil and will kill a person if there is resistance. It is evident that the thug had intentions of using that large knife on targeted victims if confrontation happened.
In South Africa, criminals are watching and waiting for a chance to attack, rob or kill. People have to stay alerted and become aware of the criminal dangers taking place daily.
Unfortunately, this is South Africa, and the government has done little to curb crime. Perhaps if politicians and their families became targets the government might shake up the security of ordinary citizens. With all the private and armed guards surrounding the politicians, it would not happen. It is a sad but accurate indication of a lawless society.
