Police in Gauteng believe that 19 cases linked to an arrested serial rapist (28) may increase as other cases have been committed in Limpopo as far back as 2015 up this year in June. The suspect who is due to appear at the Pretoria Magistrate Court on 18 July 2019, was arrested in Johannesburg City Centre following investigation after he had been linked through forensic evidence and properties stolen from the victims.

He is due to appear at the Pretoria Magistrate Court facing 19 cases committed at Pretoria West, Atteridgeville and Vuwani in Limpopo.

Seventeen (17) victims who came forward had been raped between June 2015 and June this year. The suspect would approach victims while they were walking alone and threaten them with a screwdriver or a knife. After raping them, he would then rob them of their valuable properties including cell phones and cash.

Seventeen of the rape cases were committed in Pretoria West. He was operating alone. He was arrested on Tuesday 9 July 2019.

Police are also calling upon all the victims of crime to report cases as this suspect might have committed more cases than those that have been reported.
