As police continue with operations “Okae Molao” forty six suspects including a serial rapist wanted for seven rape cases in Sebokeng and Evaton, were arrested in Sedibeng. They will be appearing at the Sebokeng Magistrate court facing charges of possession of drugs, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, armed robbery, theft and drunken driving.

The operation was conducted on the night of 16 July 2019, up to the early hours of 17 July 2019, and the detectives were raiding suspects on the wanted list. Several warrant of arrest were executed and the following suspects were arrested:

12 for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm
5 for common assault
5 for rape
5 for malicious damage to property
4 for contempt of court
4 for housebreaking and theft
6 for drunken driving
1 for armed robbery,
1 for possession of drugs
1 wanted for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

One of the suspects arrested is serial rapist who has been linked through forensic evidence to seven (7) cases. He may face more charges including kidnapping and robbery when he appears at the Seokeng Magistrate Court. The members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are further profiling the suspect as he may be linked to more other cases.
