A securty guard was left seriously injured this evening after he was shot in a shopping centre on End Street in Johannesburg CBD.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they were lead to a storeroom at the back of the shop where the patient was found.
Upon assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was in a serious condition.
Paramedics immediately began their treatment of the patient as well as providing him with numerous advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, the man was transported to a private hospital in Johannesburg for urgent treatment.
It is understood that an unknown number of gunmen had apparently entered the shop. The security guard sustained the wound while attempting to stop the gunmen.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
