On Friday, 26 November 2021, the South African Police Service in Gauteng together with other law enforcement agencies continued to embark on Operation O Kae Molao which seeks to fight any form of criminal activity within the Province.

The operation included tracing of wanted suspects, compliance inspection and stop and searches.

During the operation 67 suspects were arrested for various crimes, including possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen vehicle, possession and dealing of illicit goods, drunken driving and dealing in liquor without license.

Among the arrested there was also 11 undocumented persons and 33 wanted suspects for various crime such as murder, armed robbery, theft and assault GBH.

Meanwhile in Johannesburg CBD, another team consisting of Provincial Crime Intelligence, Public Order Policing, Customs and private security seized counterfeit goods to the value of approximately R7.4 million. Three suspects were arrested.

In Springs another team comprising of Provincial Commercial Crime, Crime Intelligence, Customs and private security arrested one suspect for possession and dealing with illicit cigarettes.

The members seized illicit cigarettes to the value of about R100 000.00.

All arrested suspects are expected to appear before different Magistrates’ Courts on 29 November 2021.
