GAUTENG — In a strategic push to curb illegal activities, SAPS air and ground visibility operations have been significantly scaled up across the region, focusing heavily on identified criminal hotspots.

The South African Police Service is utilizing a coordinated aerial and terrestrial strategy to monitor high-risk zones. Continuous surveillance is currently being maintained over Olivenhoutbosch, Sunnyside, and Thembisa. From above, aviation units are actively directing boots-on-the-ground teams, a tactic that allows for enhanced rapid responses and comprehensive coverage of these critical areas.

This multi-layered policing strategy involves active collaboration with various other law enforcement agencies. The primary objective of these joint maneuvers is to uphold public safety, prevent crime, and maintain strict law and order throughout the province.

By integrating aerial intelligence with rapid ground deployment, the police service aims to foster a secure environment. The ongoing commitment from SAPS and its partners remains focused on protecting residents and building safer communities across the region.
