Three suspects, who were involved in a shoot out with police, were arrested in Mayfair West following an armed robbery of a food outlet.
One of the suspects was shot and wounded and he is under police guard at the hospital. Police seized two unlicensed firearms, undisclosed amount of money and packets of cigarettes.
The suspects aged 20, 21 and 23 are due to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on charges of attempted murder, business robbery and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
Police are also appealing to the members of the public to look out for any suspicious people and vehicles and report such information to the local police or Crime Stop at 08600 10111 at all hours.
Information that may result in the arrest and conviction of suspects involved in serious and violent crimes may be awarded.
