Robbery: Security guard in critical condition after being shot, Diepsloot

At 06:34 on Tuesday morning 5 November 2019, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a shopping Center off Ubuntu Drive in Diepsloot West. Reports from the scene indicate that a 32 year old male security guard had been shot in what was alleged by members of the public to be a robbery.

Medics assessed the scene and found that the patient in a critical condition with two gunshot wounds to his lower abdomen and pelvic region.

The patient was treated on scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics who managed to stabilize him.

Due to the nature of the patients injuries, Netcare 2 a specialized helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the patient in a critical condition to a specialist facility for the treatment he required.

Circumstances leading up to the shooting will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
