On Monday the 5th of March 2018 Krugersdorp SAPS members arrested a suspect who allegedly committed the crime on Sunday 25th of February 2018 at approximately 13:00.
It is alleged that the 12 year old victim was playing outside with her friends when the father noticed that the child was not outside playing with other kids anymore.
He went to the other kids and asked where she was and they explained that she went with a male who’s known to them. Hours later she arrived home and informed him that she was raped by the suspect.
A case of rape was opened and the SAPS FCS Unit was assigned to investigate the case. The suspect was on the run ever since. Warrant Officer Molutsi and Sergeant Radebe of Krugersdorp Crime Prevention Unit received a tip off from members of the community about the whereabouts of the suspect.
The members swiftly responded to the call and found the suspect busy working at a small shop around Krugersdorp. The 44 year old suspect was detained and he will be appearing at Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court soon.
