Randfontein man airlifted after severe assault at his home

On January 5, 2017 at about 12:39, Netcare911 paramedics responded to a call where a man had been severely assaulted and tied up with wire to a chair in his house.

This incident happened on 8th road in Randfontein.

Upon arrival, paramedics found the man to be in a critical condition.

The man was stabilised on scene as well as intubated by a Netcare911 Advanced Life Support paramedic.

The Netcare2 helicopter has been dispatched to the scene to airlift the critically injured man to a level 1 trauma facility in Johannesburg for further medical care.

Because of the severity of the man’s injuries, two Emergency Care Practitioners and a Critical Care Assistant are part of the crew that is airborne to airlift the man.

Police are investigating the matter.
