Randfontein farm murder – four suspects arrested

The Randfontein Police have had a breakthrough and have arrested four people in connection with the murder of an entire family in Rodara, Randfontein.

Monty McCormack, aged 73, Kenny MacCormack aged 42, Marietjie Meyer aged 46 and Kayla Meyer aged nine were bludgeoned to death on their farm in March this year. The family including the young child of nine years old were all beaten to death in a senseless quadruple murder in March this year. Monty McCormack was visiting South Africa after his family emigrated to the United Kingdom.

After an intensive investigation, the four suspects arrested appeared in the local magistrate’s court and the case is remanded until August 18, 2016, according to South African Police Captain Appel Ernst of the Randfontein Police said. The arrests were made by the West Rand Trio Task team, who was working closely with Lieutenant-Colonel Gert Kruger from the Randfontein detective branch.
