Three men aged 22, 28, and 42 are expected to appear in the Jeppe Magistrates’ Court on 12 May 2022, facing charges of illegal dealing in drugs and contravention of the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act.
The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation in Johannesburg followed up on intelligence received and conducted a sting operation in the Kensington area on 10 May 2022.
Authorities intercepted a positively identified suspect’s vehicle at a fuel station, with three occupants. Upon searching the suspects’ vehicle, the investigation team found suspected drugs weighing two kilograms.
Authorities confiscated the suspects’ vehicle, Toyota Quatum which was used in commission of crime, electronic gadgets, and drugs with an estimated street value of R400 000 for further investigation.
