The Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) in concert with Gauteng Crime Intelligence Gathering (CIG) arrested a 25-year-old suspect on Tuesday morning, 10 August 2021 in Robertsham for allegations of dealing in narcotics valued at approximately R2.5 million.

Information was followed-up and the suspect was intercepted in his vehicle along Fever lane in Kibler Park.

Upon realizing that the officers were onto him, he tried to drive off but was stopped in his tracks. The resultant search uncovered small quantities of plant based substance suspected to be dagga.

The team persisted with investigation and went to the suspect’s premises in Alvede Square and later to his other property in Wrigneck Street, Robertsham. A bag containing powdery substance suspected to be crystal meth and concealed cash were seized for further investigation.

The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 12 August 2021.
