The protestors are rioting over the smart meters that government wants to install. With the smart meters installed, the people will have no choice but to pay for electricity. Perhaps these protestors have had enough of being treated unfairly by the ruling party.
The government has chosen to ignore the destructive, loud, insane majority of demonstrators. Well, protests will happen when the elected individuals think the country belongs only to them and to the select few elite who ignore the plight of the poor.
