Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for four suspects following the brazen assassination of a prominent insolvency attorney at his Saxonwold practice on Saturday.
According to authorities, the assailants arrived at the office driving a GWM vehicle and posed as clients who had a scheduled appointment. Two of the four men entered the building and were taken to a boardroom where the attorney was present.
Shortly after, gunshots were heard. The two men, along with their accomplices waiting outside, fled the scene immediately afterwards.
Police and emergency services responded to the incident, but the 43-year-old attorney was declared dead at the scene.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the motive for the targeted attack is currently unknown. “Police investigations are underway to apprehend those responsible for this callous killing,” the spokesperson said.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the Crime Stop hotline at 08600 10111. Tip-offs can also be given anonymously via the MySAPS app, which is available for download on any smartphone.
