On 8 October 2021, police in Gauteng collaborated with other law enforcement agencies and arrested four suspects in Melville, Johannesburg.
Information about a house where an unlicensed firearm was kept was operationalised. Upon arrival at the said house, drugs known as crystal meth and mandrax were seized together with the firearm and ammunition.
The firearm will be send for ballistic testing to determine if it was not used in the commission of crimes.
The arrested suspects aged 27, 34, 35 and 41 years will appear at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court in due course.
