Police operation nets more than 400 suspects in Gauteng

GAUTENG – During Operation Okae Molao in Tshwane, Ekurhuleni, police raided suspects wanted for crimes against women and children and raided illegal shebeens resulting in the arrest of more than 400 suspects and the closure of 10 liquor outlets.

Among the arrested suspects, 17 were found in possession of unlicensed firearms. Fines valued at more than R55 000 were issued for road traffic contraventions and counterfeit goods valued at R154 000 were confiscated.

The arrested suspects will appear at different Magistrate’s Courts within the province on Monday, 5 August 2019.
