Police in Dobsonville arrested three (3) suspects who robbed a courier vehicle and disarmed an escort security car at Dobsonville Mall.

The suspects are between the ages of 20-25 years.

On Wednesday, 26 April 2023 at about 13:45 at Jonas Moabi Street, Dobsonville Crime Prevention Unit members were involved in a shootout with three suspects which afforded them a recovery of a courier NP 200 bakkie, three unlicensed firearms, and cellphones that amount to an estimated value of R210 000.

It is alleged by the victim that, while delivering cellphone stock at Dobsonville Mall, they were hijacked at gunpoint by four males, and drove away with them together with the getaway vehicle.

Dobsonville police managed to avert the danger such that the suspects were forced to surrender, the arrest was effected with no casualties, and the suspects were detained at Dobsonville SAPS

The arrested suspects are facing charges of attempted murder, possession of the hijacked motor vehicle, stolen property, unlicensed firearm and ammunition, illegal immigrants, they will appear in Roodepoort Magistrate Court in due time, other properties confiscated were booked in for further investigation

Dobsonville Station Commander was pleased with the bravery of the members and applauded them for the wonderful arrest. He further emphasized that no act of criminality would be tolerated in Dobsonville.
