In their consistent effort to reduce the levels of trio crimes, Gauteng police on Saturday 02 December 2017, yet again foiled a planned business robbery that targeted a shopping complex in the Midrand area, arresting four suspects who include a former police member, and recovering three unlicensed firearms.
This was just one of many intelligence driven operations by the South African Police Service, complemented by roadblocks, stop and search operations, raiding of illegal liquor outlets and tracking of wanted suspects, as well as heightened police visibility at hot spots including shopping malls.
These operations will continue and intensify as the festive season reaches its peak with schools closing and majority of people going on holiday.
All arrested suspects will appear before the court soon.
