It is alleged that members from Vispol Edenvale SAPS were chasing suspects involved in a business robbery at Tops bottle store during the night of 17 July 2017.
The suspects fled in a red Toyota corolla, when they realized that the police were in pursuit the suspects opened fire on the police.
A state vehicle was pelleted with five bullet holes on the left side of the bonnet.
Members returned fire, fatally wounding one suspect.
The suspects’ vehicle lost control and veered into the bush. Two suspects were arrested and three unlicensed firearms were recovered.
