At approximately 23H30 on Thursday 01 February 2018, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting in Klipspringer Avenue in the Roodekop area, Germiston.

Netcare 911 were the first paramedics to arrive at the scene and attended to the twenty six year old male driver who had been shot.

This vehicle appeared to have been hit with multiple rounds and he had sustained several gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen. The man was quickly stabilized by Advanced Life Support paramedics, analgesic medication was administered to manage his pain before he was transported by ambulance to a specialized Trauma Unit for the urgent care that he required.

Reports from the scene allege that the victim was attacked at a petrol station a short distance away by a gunman with a rifle.

The victim fled the scene in his vehicle and paramedics attended to him in Klipspringer Avenue.

The SAPS were at the scene and are investigating the incident and preceding events.
