On 30 August 2016 at about 04h45, members from Crime Intelligence were following up on information of a suspect dealing in illegal firearms in Klipspruit, Soweto.
Upon arriving at the suspect premises, members requested to search his home. The suspect fired two shots at the police and police returned fire.
The suspect was not injured. One officer was shot and injured.
The suspect was arrested and a case of attempted murder is being investigated.
