On Saturday evening, 25 August 2018, at about 19:50 the control centre received numerous panic signal activations from the property. The Ghost Squad, Iron Fist Squad as well as Tactical units were dispatched. While making their way to the property the control centre phoned the client who reported that one of his tenants was shot during an armed robbery.
On arrival the teams met with the client and an extremely traumatised female who said her husband was shot. The teams rushed to the cottage and found her husband lying in a pool of blood. They checked his vitals but he was unresponsive.
She said they were inside the bedroom when two unknown suspects entered through an unlocked front door. One of the armed suspects simply lifted his firearm and shot her husband. They grabbed a laptop, cell phone, cash and fled.
Paramedics arrived and declared him deceased at the scene. It seems he was shot once but either through the heart or main artery as he bled out within a few minutes.
Our condolences to his wife, family and friends. His wife was extremely traumatised.
Police opened a case of murder and are investigating.
