Nigerian nationals arrested for manufacturing drugs

The Hawks’ Organised Crime Unit in Gauteng, in partnership with Gauteng War Room members acted on information about an illegal drug manufacturing lab in Brakenhurst, Alberton on Monday night.

When officers raided the premises at Appelgrein Street around 23:35, drug manufacturing equipment, 12 kg of meth and an assortment of chemicals worth over R20 million were recovered.

Two Nigerian nationals, aged 36 and 38 years, were arrested at the scene and they will appear before the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on charges of manufacturing drugs.

The Hawks’ investigations continue and more suspects are expected to be arrested soon.
