Police arrested a 50-year-old man who posed as a security guard for murder at corner Henry Nxumalo and Marshall Street on 15 November 2021.

It is alleged that the suspect assaulted a 31-year-old man with an unknown instrument in the early hours of Monday.

The victim sustained multiple injuries in his body and paramedics certified him dead on the scene. The motive for the murder is not yet known. The weapon used in the commission of a crime is not recovered.

Investigation is underway and suspect will be appearing before Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 17 November 2021.

Johannesburg Central Station Commander Brigadier Perumal commended the good working relationship between the police and the community that resulted in the apprehension of the suspect.
