Muldersdrift business armed robbery, worker injured

Yesterday afternoon, 24 September 2018, the Drift Reaction cc control centre received a panic activation from the business premises. Tactical Units were dispatched and on arrival they met up with a bleeding and shocked worker who reported that he was robbed by three armed suspects.

Two of the suspects are known to him as they work (and still worked yesterday before the incident) at the business. According to the bleeding man the two came to work yesterday and left just before lunch time only to return with a third unknown man.

They walked to his house where they started talking and the next moment the two produced firearms and demanded cash, cell phones as well as his tablet. They pistol whipped him and then fled the scene.

Our partners ER 24 were dispatched however he declined medical assistance. Our teams went looking for the suspects however they managed to evade arrest and we suspect they were hiding in a nearby squatter camp.

The owners of the business were notified and also warned that these two “contract workers” were in fact armed robbers who has access to firearms and they pose a real threat to their business as well as employees.

We do not know how long they have been planning this or if they have bigger plans for future robberies.

Police are investigating.
