Tshwane Metro Police Officers were stopping vehicles in Hatfield, Pretoria on 06 January 2017 at approximately 9:30.
It is alleged that the Tshwane Metro Police Officers stopped the motorist and the motorist tried to knock over the officer.
The officer allegedly shot and killed the driver. The officer was arrested and the case will be referred to IPID for further investigation.
The identity of the deceased can only be revealed once the next of kin has been informed.
