The National Development Plan, showcased at the Vision 2030 Summit, continues to anchor, reflect and underpin nationwide commitment to ending poverty and inequality through improving the lives of the poor and marginalised in society.
Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Buti Kgwaridi Manamela and Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni,Cllr. Mzwandile Masina, have confirmed their attendance to speak at the upcoming Vision 2030 Summit, being hosted from 21-22 June 2017 at Birchwood Hotel, Johannesburg.
Manamela will speak on how South Africa is committed to aligning itself with the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which comprise a set of 17 SDGs to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, as well as tackle climate change by 2030.
Masina’s speech will see him sharing his views on what more business, government and civil society can do, to achieve the goals of the NDP by the year 2030.

Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe, who delivered the Vision 2030 Summit’s keynote address last year, said, “One of the challenges that government has faced is a lack of communication around its activities, especially as it relates to the NDP. It is in this spirit of improving our communication that we welcome the return of this Summit.”
The Vision 2030 Summit will address all issues relating to the National Development Plan – and build the community of South Africans joining our leaders, both in government and the private sector, driving economic acceleration and transformation.

In 2015 and 2016, Topco Media hosted the groundbreaking Summit on the National Development Plan and produced two publications reflecting the country’s progress towards achieving Vision 2030. This year, we are repeating the Summit on 21 and 22 June. In addition the Summit will be accompanied by the inaugural Vision 2030 Awards, designed to celebrate those implementing the vision and goals of the National Development Plan.
