Mondeor man arrested for false ‘home robbery’ case

Police arrested a suspect on the 30 November 2019 aged 45 for perjury. The Suspect reported that on the 28 November at about 11:20 he was coming from Standard bank to withdraw cash when he was followed by a vehicle a white Toyota Fortuner.

The suspect further alleged that while opening the gate at his home in Riethaan Crescent Liefde in Vrede three male suspects pointed him with a firearm and took him into the house and robbed him.

Investigation revealed that he opened a false case, he was arrested charged with perjury.

Police in Mondeor are warning the community not to open false cases. Police are committed in fighting crime and keeping the communities safe, people that are opening false cases will face the consequences.

The suspect will appear in Johannesburg magistrate court on Monday 02 December 2019.
