Four people, including a policeman, have been arrested in connection with the daring cash robbery on the runway at the Johannesburg airport, and the media is blamed for the slow investigation.
The police are suddenly concerned that media reports and journalists attempts to find out the truth may hamper further investigations.
A spokesman for the acting national police commissioner said journalists constant interference and illegal ways used to obtain information from the police does not help the process of investigation at all. They would in addition, create suspicion and reflect a distorted image.
Apparently, there is police sensitivity about the fact that one of its members has been arrested in connection with the crime, and it is expected that more police officers may be involved.
