The manager of a dairy farm in Rayton near Cullinan was attacked on Friday night, March 17, around 21H00.
Albie van Jaarsveld (45) went to check why the dogs were barking and was hit on the head with a spade by a suspect.
It appears that the suspect may have attempted to steal sheep.
Albie suffered a concussion.
The police are investigating.
