Man survives brutal Vlakfontein hijacking

A man believed to have been hijacked, was found alive in a veld with multiple gunshot wounds in Vlakfontein, south of Johannesburg, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said it was believed that the man, in his 30s, was hijacked earlier Tuesday evening and the suspects allegedly dumped him in the veld after shooting him.

“ER24 Johannesburg South paramedics arrived at the scene, Golden Highway in Vlakfontein, and found the man lying in the veld.

“He was assessed and found to be in a critical condition and was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care,” said Bodasing.

The details surrounding the incident were unknown at the stage and police were investigating.
