A man, believed to be in his 40s, was killed yesterday afternoon after an apparent shooting on Bowling Avenue in Sandton, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived at approximately 12h15, finding a light motor vehicle on the side of the road.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a man, believed to be in his 40s, lying in the front seat of his vehicle.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.
It is alleged that an unknown number of gunmen had opened fire on the driver and vehicle, causing him to crash into the pavement.
Traffic was heavily affected in the area.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
