A man was left critically injured this afternoon when he sustained a gunshot wound to his head at a business on Hazel Road in Benoni, Gauteng.
Paramedics were called to the scene after a member of public found the man in his vehicle.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the patient seated inside a light motor vehicle.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his head.
While the patient was being assessed, paramedics found that his vital signs rapidly deteriorated.
Advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated, in an effort to stabilise his vital signs.
Once treated, the man was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital for urgent treatment.
Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
